Healing our relationship with money

We hope you saw our big news that Andrea decided to bring Satori Yoga's public schedule under the umbrella of TendWell Collective.

You can now book public classes through either of our websites: TendWell or Satori.

Andrea will continue offering wellness in the workplace directly through Satori. She can connect your company with an amazing group of providers for yoga, meditation, mindfulness, and a recently announced program for Embodied DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion).

We’re working to make wellness equitable.

One aspect of equity is money.

At TendWell, we talk a lot about money: our personal money stories, scarcity vs. abundance mindset, how our world programs us to respond to discounts, and how we can better value (and not de-value) ourselves and others - to name just a few topics. It's uncomfortable… and empowering.

We believe that looking at our relationship with money is a part of our healing journey, individually and collectively.

We're grieving the loss of so many brick-and-mortar yoga and wellness spaces in SF, including our very own Satori. We're grieving our participation in an industry that has turned yoga and wellness into a commodity. An industry that often puts individual profit or business survival before community wellness and teacher compensation. We're grieving that so many folks do not have access to healthcare or to affordable wellness.

We believe that wellness businesses need to operate differently going forward, and we're here to explore those paths with you.

We aim to provide access to a variety of wellness providers and to a like-minded community - at a variety of price points.

Please reach out, if the pricing options you see below or at check-out don't work for you.

One way we're doing things differently is that we are not providing exclusive access to teachers and their amazing classes.

We’re working to break down competitive boundaries between teachers and studios. We think of TendWell as a semi-permeable container within which we are values-aligned.

At TendWell, we offer the community a curated selection of teachers’ classes at our pricing. Teachers host these classes (and often more) on their own platforms, too. Sometimes these classes are even in collaboration with another studio or collective.

If you ever decide TendWell's model just doesn't work for you, you are always welcome to support your teachers directly. And we'd love to hear your feedback.

Here’s our current pricing and why.

Sliding Scale Drop-In: We’re thrilled that our new booking platform has sliding scale pricing built into it.

You can customize the Sliding Drop-In rate based on your personal financial situation.

Updated Sep 14, 2022: We offer a broad sliding scale range for Drop-In’s: $5-35.

Our lower range prices help us to pay our collaborators $5+ per public class and to cover our basic expenses. If you need a lower price, please reach out.

We ask those with relatively stable financial situations to pay the middle or high end of sliding scale ranges. Your investment in your wellness pays forward to students who need to book at the lower range of our sliding scale pricing. We reinvest the excess into TendWell's vision and on-going Programs, like free community events and affinity support groups with paid facilitators.

Please note, service fees are added to the drop-in amount you choose to cover the booking platform and credit card payment processing.

Monthly Passes: Our monthly passes allow you to commit to your practice and accelerate TendWell’s vision: a world where everyone has the resources, access, community, and agency that they need to tend to their own wellness.

You can purchase a recurring Monthly pass for 5 classes ($60-90), 10 classes ($125-175), or Unlimited ($200-300).

Passes auto-renew monthly and you can cancel online, anytime - no minimum number of months required. We're not interested in “locking you in” (that's the scarcity mind talking).

For the 5 and 10 class passes, any leftover classes rollover each month, in case you are busy or out of town. Rollover credits expire after 3 months. You can supplement passes with drop-in’s.

The Unlimited pass is for those who regularly attend 3+ classes per week or are financially resourced to support us in a big way!

We know these pass prices may seem high or set up differently than other studios.

That is intentional.

We're challenging us all (ourselves included) to think about how we value our individual and collective wellness.

Our monthly passes are designed to provide you an option to pay roughly $15/class. There isn't a discount as you pay more, because we don't believe you're receiving a lesser value service.

Our intent is for you to use your pass, which often isn't the intent at businesses where you see discounted monthly memberships. (Or, maybe you don't always use your pass, but you are committed to paying wellness forward. Thank you! We see you!)

The recurring nature of these passes provides us with more financial certainty than non-recurring class pack purchases. As we have more reliable recurring revenue, our goal is to pay teachers more, to offer more free/low-cost services, and to keep growing. That said - if a one-time class package is really what you need, please ask!

Wherever you are in your healing journey with money - we appreciate you and your support.

With deep gratitude,

Andrea, Emily, Reneé, and Taylor
