Meet our Teachers & Collaborators!

TendWell collaborates with Values-aligned teachers, facilitators, and other studios.

We offer a diverse selection of their classes to the TendWell community on our public Schedule. Booking with TendWell pays forward to our other Programs.

And, we’re non-competitive. Meaning, you are always welcome to support our collaborators directly if that feels best to you. We also work to uplift collaborators’ independent works, be it coaching, workshops, retreats, and more!

YogaLove

YogaLove is a community space, art gallery, and yoga studio in North Oakland. The founder and caretaker of the space is Treina Alexander (pictured). Treina opened YogaLove in 2013 as the first Queer Women of Color (QWOC) yoga studio in Oakland. Most of the current teachers are folks of color who live in Oakland.

TendWell is collaborating to host YogaLove's livestream classes and a handful of special in-person events.

WITHIN Meditation

Each WITHIN class offers time for meditation and the space afterwards to reflect with your teacher and fellow students. WITHIN believes in the power of bringing people together with a knowledgable teacher to deepen the experience of meditation and to foster connections from a grounded place.

What People Are Saying

“I love the community, seeing the same faces at classes week by week and the way the teachers bring everyone together. There's a real sense of connection, both during and before/after the classes. And I definitely wouldn't meditate as much just doing it on my own via a pre-recorded app.”

— Annie P.

“Before being introduced to WITHIN, I had never meditated in any real way. I love the teachers and have benefitted so much from all I've learned and continue to learn! I am more aware of everything and know how to get into a calmer place easily.”

— Suzanne B.

“WITHIN has given me a great sense of community over the past few months that I've been taking classes. I value the time I've created for myself to sit and explore my thoughts and feelings, and I think it has made me a more confident and well-rounded person.”

— Carolyn K.

Satori Yoga

Andrea Stern (pictured) opened Satori Yoga Studio in 2004, after years of working in corporate Human Resources with the goal to provide urban professionals with a studio that caters specifically to their needs - an urban oasis based in the middle of San Francisco's Financial District. During the pandemic of 2020, Satori shifted online. Satori loves to build community and continues to expand access to whole person wellness.

What People Are Saying

“The class was relaxing, nourishing, and a wonderful experience. Ritu is a fantastic teacher who gently guided us through a very nurturing practice that left me feeling calm and balanced.”

— Elizabeth

Katy is a really great teacher! This was my first class with her- she has a wonderful connection with her students, and is able to coach individual students as needed (first teacher I’ve met on Zoom who can do that and keep class going).”

— Myra

TJ's classes never fail to invigorate and inspire. TJ always provides ample ideas for modifications and gives just the right amount of information and feedback. The class today, on the back body, challenged me to feel and think about parts of my body that are often ignored. TJ's diligent care in planning the class and attending to the individual is immensely obvious and appreciated!

— Lori

“Always a great class with Atosa.”

— Angela

Megan is skilled attentive and committed to encouraging her students to move and keep moving. She refreshes each of her sessions to balance accomplishment with challenge. She is flexible allowing workarounds and props to allow for diverse ages and abilities to cultivate a movement practice.”

— Cheryl

Magi is an amazing instructor! Her instructions are totally clear. I love her humor and compassion, too.”

— Loralei C
